The Tablet of the Holy Mariner is in two parts, the first in Arabic, and the second in Persian. Bahá'u'lláh revealed this tablet as an allegory of man's unfaithfulness to the Covenenant of God. This allegory was meant to apply not only during Bahá'u'lláh's lifetime, but also to the ministries of 'Abdu'l-Bahá and Shoghi Effendi and the establishment of the Universal House of Justice.

'Abdu'l-Bahá, in reference to this work, said, “Study the Tablet of the Holy Mariner that ye may know the truth, and consider that the Blessed Beauty hath fully foretold future events. Let them who perceive, take warning!”
